<p>Hello :) I've recently been accepted to the Computer Science program at UIUC, but I'm out of state and probably not going to get much financial aid or scholarships. I was considering going to Rolla for my undergrad degree in Computer Science and then maybe going to UIUC for grad school. Can anyone give me some information about the Computer Science program at MO S&T? I know it's not as highly ranked as UIUC's program, but can I still get a good education there? Or do you think UIUC is worth the extra cost?</p>

<p>It’s too bad no one is responding to anything on this board, as my son is very interested in MS & T. I don’t really know much about MS&T except what I’ve read, but I do know several people who have attended U of I. </p>
<p>If you haven’t visited, I definitely would before making a decision. It is absolutely HUGE, so that would definitely be a consideration for a lot of people. Good luck!</p>

<p>Thanks, I have visited U of I. I think I would prefer a smaller school, but I don’t mind the size too much. I think I’d rather go to MO S&T, but most likely my parents are going to make me go to UIUC, which I guess I can’t complain too much.</p>
<p>We live in Missouri, so I can just give you the reputation it has locally. They are considered very good for Engineering, and I would assume computer science. A lot of intelligent kids from the area choose it for it’s reputation and reasonable cost. Many big companies in the area hire these students. Last year a kid from church with a 36 act selected it because of the low cost and high admission rates into well ranked graduate schools. It is much smaller than U of I and mostly male.</p>

<p>I’m still considering it. They gave me $10,500 per year in scholarships so it would only cost me about $13k-14k a year… which is a lot better than U of I’s 49k per year O.O University of Minnesota is also one of my top options, it would only cost $30k a year, which is pretty good for out of state :)</p>
