Computer Science in SEAS

Hi! I was accepted EA into the school of engineering and I believe I want to study comp sci. Currently, I am trying to decide between UVA and Hopkins. I know this might sound bad but my biggest concern with UVA’s SEAS is that it won’t challenge me enough. While I don’t want to be somewhere that is overly stressful and impossible (which is my worry with Hopkins), I also think I need to be somewhere that will push me by being surrounded by people that are super determined, which, from what a current student has told me, has not been her experience.
I know that every person will have their own opinion so I was hoping I could have some more feedback about particularly the computer science BS major.
What is the culture of SEAS like? What research opportunities are there? What kind of internships do the students get? What companies do they work for? How many go to grad school? Anything that might be helpful please let me know!!!

Please help!!

I have a friend at Hopkins. He tells me that the workload is intense enough to require almost all of your time if you want to maintain anything above a 3.6 GPA. He barely has time to network or put any time into extracurriculars. Despite his 3.95 going on his third year, he feels like he hasn’t gained much ground in making connections or building a resumé. It’s a constant struggle against grade deflation.

Don’t underestimate Hopkins as doable, and don’t underestimate UVA as too easy.
