Is this a good idea? I'm currently going to UCSD and I'm pretty set on being a Computer Science Major, as I love the subject. However, I was interested in minoring in something else, and, as you may or not know, UCSD has a new undergraduate business program that offers Accounting as a minor. I am reluctant in pursuing this mainly because I would only fulfill half of the CPA undergraduate requirements. I'm new in this field and don't know if accounting would be worth pursuing if it's only a minor.

If you have the free elective credits, I would take:

Accounting

Economics

Finance

Management

Marketing

Statistics

So that you would be better prepared for the GMAT and most importantly, you can start off with the MBA-versions of those courses in case you ever go on to do an MBA.

That would be (in most cases) the difference in taking 50+ credits for a MBA and 36 or less for a MBA.
