What’s the different courses you need for to study the major of computer science? Also can someone explain if I can primarly focus on like programming/software because that’s what I wanna do in the future. Write programs for companies I’m not really into math stuff. However do i still need to take more math>programming classes?
The degree requirements are here: http://sb.cc.stonybrook.edu/bulletin/current/academicprograms/cse/degreesandrequirements.php
Not all the core classes are about programming, but most of them don’t involve advanced math. However, to complete the major, you do need 2 semesters of applied calculus, 1 semester of applied linear algebra, and 1 semester of applied math/statistics. Some of the required classes do require some understanding of math, like Analysis of Algorithms.
