We just returned from a visit at University of Alabama and my son loved the school. The facilities were fantastic and everyone was extremely friendly. The only question we have remaining is about the quality of computer science program - We want to ensure our son has an excellent foundation for a future career as a software engineer. Does anyone have any experience with UA’s computer science program they can share- all information is appreciated!
You probably need to post this question in the Alabama forum…

^^^ That’s where the students/parents who are familiar with the College of Eng’g and the CS program can answer questions.
Also…Dr. David Cordes, head of the CS dept at Bama will always QUICKLY answer emails with any questions or concerns. He is also director of the Freshman Engineering Program

Glad to hear that you enjoyed your campus visit.
Thank you mom2collegekids!
I have a friend that graduated with her grad degree in CS from UA, and she did ABD ( a sore spot that she didn’t complete - but between a high demand job, 3 kids, etc lost its priority). She liked that CS was in the COE.
My DD is in Civil Eng at UA - with the build up of STEM, faculty, etc I would be surprised if CS at UA is not up to all the other standards at UA.
