Computer science "recommended"? (freshmen admissions)

I can't find a link now, but I'm almost positive there was a mention on the admissions page about a semester or two of computer science with an X in the "recommended" column. How damaging is it if I don't have this (yet)? My school has a computer science course that is the entire year, and I didn't want to waste a year in it, as it's pretty elementary. But I can still dual enroll in a CSE 101 course at a local university in January. Will early action take that into consideration or is that more or less an empty promise that they have no way of verifying, so it will have no impact? "Hey I promise to handle that in January, so go ahead and admit me, my word is as good as gold!"

note: I'm in-state, applying to LSA, most likely for math. Michigan is a slight reach and I didn't want to do anything that jeopardizes my chances. ):

It may help with admissions but it would only be a very minor boost. Take the dual-enroll class if you want to, don’t if you don’t.
