Computer Science Schools

I am from Massachusetts and looking for computer science schools preferable in the northeast or really just on the east coast. I have a 3.3 gpa a 1210 sat score. Captain of soccer team and do two other sports while participating in 2 clubs. What are some schools that i could get into if price doesn’t matter. I would like a school like Virginia tech but if that is too hard where else could i go?

I’m not sure I understand what you mean by “computer science schools”. Computer science is in such high demand that most 4y universities and LACs have CS departments

UMass-Amherst has an excellent reputation for CS but may be a big reach for your GPA.
You can assume that many major out-of-state universities (like Virginia Tech) will be at least as hard to get in.

Have a look at other, less selective universities in the UMass system. If price really doesn’t matter, check out directional state universities outside MA. The University of Maryland-Baltimore County, maybe (although for OOS students it may not be too much less selective than UMass). Maybe some of the SUNY schools.

Some of the so-called “Colleges That Change Lives” also may have departments big enough to meet your needs. These schools have good reputations and many of them accept students with your stats.

I was thinking UMass Amherst as well.

Maybe look at Univ of Delaware? Or UConn?

Your grades and test scores may be a little low, but you should look at Marist. The school’s CS program gets a lot of support from IBM, which has many employees in the area.

UMass Amherst will be a huge reach for CS, I would say beyond the point of applying.

Check out RIT, which should be in the high match range.

Clarkson?
