<p>My d is going to NYU in the fall. Does the school recommend any specific hardware or software for laptops? Do they have any buying plans?</p>

<p>The IBM/Lenovo computers are cheap but for Dell I recommend you find a coupon code online because the bookstore is somewhat more expensive.</p>

<p>There are no specific hardware/software recommendations.</p>

<p>No offense but those Optiplex computers are wayyyyyy overpriced, i could build a MONSTER gaming system with $1000+</p>
