Hello!
I was wondering if anybody had some advice for concentrating on the SAT
I get easily distracted by loud sounds and excessive paper shuffling so I am kind if worried
I knew someone who brought ear plugs to the exam once (the type you sleep with so you don’t hear snoring) and she said it worked fine, but I don’t know if you’re allowed to do this?
Thanks for your time
Lol I actually prepared for that by playing long YouTube videos listening to them at a high volume in my headphones while testing. I guess it got me used to tuning things out.
Edit: when I say testing, I mean practice tests at home to be clear
I have been told in the past that permission to wear ear plugs during the test is given at the discretion of the proctor. You bring the ear plugs to the testing center and ask the proctor if it is ok for you to wear them. The proctor may examine the plugs to make sure that there are no electronics in them. He doesn’t have to let you wear them if he doesn’t want to, for whatever reason. I know people who have received permission and worn them though. If you are sensitive to noise, ear plugs can help a lot.
You can also call ahead to the test center to ask if the center as a whole has an ear plug policy.
