Conceptual Physics

Hello,
as a freshman I had honors conceptual physics, which is a freshman only physics class without all the math. The only math you do is solve for variables in equations. Now as a junior, I am going to take honors physics rather than going to ap physics c because the college board recomends an introductory course taken before ap physics c. also honors physics covers way more topics than conceptual physics and their is also trig and alot more math involved. The problem is, will colleges view my freshman physics class and my junior year physics class as the same thing? Will they view my 11th grade class as a waste of time? I know for sure that conceptual physics wont prepare me for ap physics c and honors physics will since i will take ap in 12 grade

I’d be more concerned about not having time for bio and chem since you’re spending 3/4 years on physics?

I agree with @bodangles . If I were you, I would take bio/chem instead of honors physics. Since you’ve already had a year of exposure to high school physics, I think you can go ahead and take AP Physics C w/o further preparation. Just make sure you’re comfortable with calculus and managing time wisely to study extra if needed.

I already have high school bio and chem done. Next year I’m doubling on on science with ap bio

See that’s my point. If I decide to take honors physics ( which is more rigorous that conceptual physics) will colleges look at me in a negative way for not taking ap since I have the experience in physics.

See if you can take AP Physics 1 instead of honors physics. I had conceptual physics in 8th grade and next year it is required at my high school that we take either regular or advanced Physics (but they teach to the AP Physics 1 and 2 exams [i go to a good private school, sends many kids to ivies, stanford, duke, etc.]), If you can take AP Physics 1, definitely do that.

My school doesn’t have AP Physics 1. so i’ll go to honors in 11th then physics c in 12th. Is this a good idea? Either way im taking physics c in 12th grade so like should I skip honors?
