Concerned about failing class

I was provisionally admitted to CPP in February into a non-impacted major. I have confirmed my intent to enroll and applied for housing already, but I am now concerned that I may get a D or F in one of my classes. I called in to ask about it and admissions told me that as long as I have the golden 4 and 60 units completed I will be fine, which is great. The problem is the 60 units; I will only have 59 units if I fail this class. I was wondering if I could complete a one unit online course over the summer at my community college if I happen to fail this class. Should I talk to an admissions counselor? Are there exceptions to taking a course in the summer? I really don’t wish to get rescinded due to being one unit away from 60!

Yes you should talk to an admissions counselor if you are going to be short 1 unit. I know of two posters last year that were rescinded due to not meeting the 60 unit minimum transfer requirement. Hopefully CPP will let you take the summer class to make up the deficit.

Update: I called in and they said even if you’re one unit short the system will withdraw an application that has less than 60 total units or something along the lines of that. They said an individual would have to appeal and state their case to get reinstated.

In other news I ended up passing my class I thought I was going to fail. Good luck to everyone else in my position.

Congrats on passing your class.
