Concerned about lack of demonstrated interest...

Hey everyone,
I was wondering just how much emphasis Reed places on demonstrated interest. I just recently realized how much I like Reed (basically, I finally got over my name-brand school obsession) and applied, but now I am worried that I have demonstrated very little interest - I didn't even request an interview. I have heard that Reed often will waitlist or even reject candidates they think are using Reed as a "safety" or "back-up", and I am worried that my failure to request literature or talk with an admissions rep (combined with my applying to Yale, Harvard and Columbia) is going to make me a less desirable candidate for acceptance. Am I just freaking out here, or is there something I should try to do to demonstrate my interest in Reed?

Don’t even worry about it. Last year I admitted that all I knew about Reed came from the princeton review book, and I didn’t request an interview. I was accepted. Try to get an interview if it’s still possible

If you demonstrate genuine interest in your “Why Reed?” essay, you should be fine. I, however, like DoinSchool, recommend an interview. It’s a fun conversation!
