I’m freaking out. I’ve just ended my senior year with the worst grades I’ve ever gotten in my 12 year public education career. The school I’ve been accepted to is a conditional acceptance school. I’m stressed out and worried that I might get it taken away. Granted, I did not work the hardest I could, but I’ve had a lot going on in the past year, and I really am stuck on what to do. I’m not looking for an excuse, just some answers on what where I could go from here.
I’m afraid. I’m losing sleep over this.
If your drop is significant (in my opinion, more than 1.0 drop in GPA, or a full letter grade, such as B- to C-), then you should worry.
I know it is difficult. “Should I contact the college first?” My answer is that I don’t have a good answer for you. If you contact the office first, you run the risk of acknowledging your faults, which may be good or bad. If you don’t contact the office and it gets to you first, it looks worse.
Look at it this way. You’re already feeling crappy. Go with the choice that will give you less regret (though I suppose that either choice will make you feel regretful, so it’s inevitable).
