well, i get a letter of appointment today for usafa. which is weird considering I’m in the army. totally out of the blue. anywayz- it says its conditional and that I have to send a college transcript by june 10. what should i do if i dont happen to have a college transcript? and even if i did, how poor of grades can you get?

All C's and you are good to go. Any D or Fs generally result in your appointment being withdrawn.

Thats good to know that some appointments are going out!

If you dont want your appointment, ILL TAKE IT! HA I CALLED IT FIRST! ITS MINE MINE MINE!

lol Snipper, I'm sure you'll get an appointment, no worries.

And BIG congrats to you 8IzEnuff! No pun intended on "out of the blue" right? ;)

I actually dont think in good conciousness accept an appointment i didnt deserve...at least for about 5 minutes! Actually i would do everything in my power to give everyone here an appointment, even if it means my not getting one because everyone here deserves one.

Deffinately, congrads on getting the appointment. You said it was unexpected. Well, i assume you applied. Its not like it just showed up as a supprise right?

Since you were in the army, did you have a certain nomination category or did you go through congress?

Congrads again!

thats the crazy thing- i didn;t get a nom from my congresswoman. i only got nom'ed to navy and wp. so it was totally out of the blue.

"All C's and you are good to go."

That doesn't sound right to me.

A D or F will result in your appointment normally being withdrawn - from the 2006 (and i think its in previous ones too) catelog. As long as you score no grade less than a C your appointment will stand.

Competitively, for those without appointments, getting all Cs wont look good, but it doesnt take away from your, just others will have more points in this field.

Ds and Fs are the killer.

Hey 8, could you log onto your application status page and see what it does list as your nominating source? That would be really interesting.

yea once you have your appointment, don't slack off in school! On that note, don't over-do yourself. Chill out and relax a little while you still have your civilian life. I used the college money I had saved up to get my private pilots license in the spring before BCT. It was a lot of fun and I can fly anytime I have some money for it.
