Conditions of Admission

So, can somebody explain what this mean?

Complete all senior-year courses listed on your application (including any external examinations) with an overall unweighted B average for each term and no grade lower than a C. Immediately notify us, in writing: if you did not meet the grade point average condition for any term of your senior year; or of any changes to your senior year class schedule.

If I get a grade lower than C in any of my classes, am I not satisfying the condition?
and, the part about "external examination"... does that mean I have to take all the AP exams? I was going to cancel some of the exams...omg

basically you have to do what you said on your app. you have to complete the courses and take the AP tests (from what i gather). any changes need to be reported immediately…i forget the website, it says it somewhere.
and yes, you must get a C or above in every course - no D’s or F’s…otherwise you will have some explaining to do :/

ap tests they don’t care for, just continue on in the class.

how positive are you fiesta? I’m a bit concerned.

Yeahhh
Fiesta is right I’ve heard it many times before as long as you continue the class the test does not matter

everyone who has been positive on the subject agrees.

simply, the classes count more in their eyes than just one test.

i failed all my senior AP’s. i took 5 got 1’s on 4 of them and passed one with a 3… -.-

OK, so it’s OK to decide not to take the AP exams as long as you get an A in your classes? This is my consern

I heard it doesn’t matter if u take AP exams period. as long as u maintain 3.0

If you’re not taking the AP exams that you planned to take (or listed) on your application, then you MUST notify the admissions office as soon as possible. They will decide, on the basis of your senior year grades and courses, whether or not to alter your admissions status.

This isn’t hearsay, by the way. I have firsthand experience with this! :)

proof? because my letter responded with an a-okay, and that it’s totally fine not to take the ap classes so long as you complete the ap courses.

^ you dont need to take the ap exams even if you listed that you would take them on your app.

sorry, huge mistake, I meant

“totally fine not to take the ap TESTS so long as you complete the ap courses.”

by notify, do we mail them a letter or phone call to let them know?

hamburgler, how sure are you? Cause that seems to be the consensus around here until I saw the post by julian.

No, you don’t have to take the AP tests as long as you complete your AP classes. I’m not sure about what the UC apps look like this year, but the year that I did it, we didn’t have to list the AP tests that we haven’t taken yet, just the tests that we took and the AP classes that we’re in.

there was a section on the application where we had to list “planned AP tests” for this upcoming year.

Oh, if that’s the case, then yea … you probably need to notify them in someways if you are not planning on taking the tests.

Is there someway to notify them through email or something rather than snailmail? ALso, how do we know if they’ve received it or not?

I don’t recall that; just looked through my application and couldn’t find that section.
