You can look on their website and see who reads applications from your state, and then send them an email and ask them to confirm if they have received your app. I wouldn't wait, I know from other things I have applied for, sometimes an app can get lost in the mail, and if you wait too long to find out then it is too late to send it in again, and you kick yourself for not having called sooner. I have had to email admissions about something different and they were very nice to me.

Where on the web site can I find out who reads the applications from a region? And did you just email the admissions office for your questions? I'm a bit worried because I haven't received a contact about an interview yet. I was planning to contact the alumni association/admissions office to ask about it.

I'd try the admissions office generally before contacting the person who reads for your region. The actual admissions officers are probably buried in reading right now and may not have processing info as handy as an administrative type would.

ASC directors are still getting new names from the admissions office. I'd wait until the weekend to contact your ASC director, although you could call the admissions office and get that person's name and number (if they give it out) tomorrow so you're prepared.

I'm sorry. I looked at their website and all they have is a generic address to contact: http://www.yale.edu/admit/contact/staff.html

I swear they used to have the directory listed by region, but I also toured Yale and maybe I got the information while there.

Regardless, I have found the admissions staff at Yale very friendly and responsive, and I don't see anything wrong with calling or emailing and asking confirmation of your application's receipt. I sent an email just yesterday, saying "(------). If you can, can youo respond to my email and let me know the status of (----)". I received an answer within the day.

Good luck.

Yes, I too remember my regional person listed...oh well! Where are you from? I could give you her name.

im from Washington state

Sorry don't know then. Email the admissions office directly. I once emailed my regional person and she never ever responded (it's been 6 months). I emailed the Stanford admissions office the same day and got a response within a week.

Well thanks anyways. I called the Admissions Office and got a recording saying that I shouldn't contact them/be concerned before November 27th. I submitted a paper application and forgot to mark SCEA on the envelope (but i did on the application form) so thats probably why its taking forever to process. Thanks anyways.

I too forgot to write SCEA, but on my teacher rec forms. I put it on my school form.

Ugh...I shouldve applied online. Anyways I just sent an email to student.questions@yale.edu so I guess i'll just hope for the best over the weekend and call first thing Monday morning (being on the west coast is terrible because by the time I get out of school their offices are closed and I dont have much free time during the school day that I can use to make a call). Thanks again.
