Confirmed Enrollment at 2 Schools, Please Help

I was recently accepted for Winter transfer to another school and the deadline to accept transfer enrollment was Dec 1, so I did. On Dec 3. I got acceptance from NYU. I really want to go and I paid the $500 to confirm. But then I received an email from NYU that says if I have confirmed with another school my acceptance can be rescinded. Please help as I do not know what to do if the confirmation is legally binding.

What should I do? Can I just contact administration and discuss this with them. Has this happened to anyone here? The worst case scenario is I end up having my acceptance rescinded from both schools. Thanks!

Cancel your acceptance to the first school?

First, there’s nothing legal involved in dealing with college applications and acceptances; it’s an honor system, with possible consequences.

Yes, just cancel the first one.

Thanks vonlost, I hope the consequence isnt having admission taken back…
