Conflict in Extracurriculars

I am applying to Columbia RD, and am currently the President of FBLA for my school.

I have seen an application to Columbia RD also from someone else at my school who unfortunately decided to list that she was also President of FBLA. Now granted, she is someone who does a lot of work with FBLA, but lost her election and thus did not receive a leadership position this year.

I feel that it’s kinda unfair that even if she has done some work with FBLA, that does not give her the right to take a leadership position that she clearly didn’t earn, and I did, but at the same time I don’t particularly want to be a snitch about it.

I was wondering what I should do, if anything? Her application has already been submitted to Columbia BTW.

Worry about your own application.

You could talk directly to her about it. If you have honestly seen her app, that is.

Talk to your GC. Maybe his/her letter already emphasized your position in that letter.
This happens and your regional rep may notice. But an admit is so much more than one title in one club.

A similar thing happened at my high school once. I don’t remember what colleges exactly, but several contacted our high school guidance office because they noticed and wanted to know who was telling the truth. The student that lied was rejected from those schools.

Nor do colleges want you to be, at least not as an applicant. Attempts to sabotage other’s applications have been around since Eden and the apple, so avoid that temptation. You need to worry about your own application and let the AOs worry about the others. The experience of @guineagirl96 is not unique.

Also, at the end on the day, the title of president of any club will not be what gets one admitted to any college.

This won’t matter. Hope you both get in.
