Confused about math score

D got 4 wrong in main sections,
omitted one,
and on the student produced responses she got 3 corect, 3 omitted, 4 wrong

Does a 630 sound about right?

We are not sure what counts, what points are taken of for, etc

(She got one wrong on writing, a 9 essay and got a 770, six wrong for CR and got a 730)

Yup, math curve is hard. Got 4 wrong TOTAL, five omitted, a 680...so, if your D got 8 wrong and omitted 4...sounds like it should be about a 630 or 640.

well I got a 650 and I got
Number Right: 44, Number Wrong: 7, Number Omitted: 3, Total Number of Questions: 54, Raw Score: 43

630 sounds a little low to me...

well, she got 8 wrong and 4 ommited, so 630 sounds good to me

Sounds right, her raw score was 41 and anagarcia said she got a 650 with a raw score of 43.
To calculate the raw score start with 54(total number of math questions) and subtract the number of multiple choice wrongtimes 1.25. In your case it 54-1.25x4 = 49. The 1.25 is becasue there is a guessing penalty of 1/4 point for every incorrect answer(in the mutliple choice section). Then from 49 take away the total number omitted which was 4 so 49-4=45. Then subtract the number of free response wrong(there is no guessing penalty on these) 45-4=41

im the daughter. anyways...dont they not take away points for student produced responses? i assumed my score was correct...im just confused about how it works.

i was told that they dont take points off for student produced responses..and only add them for getting them right. and i only omitted one question on the regular multiple choice questions.

but who knows. all this math is confusing.

According to big_al's calculations you got a 41/54 which is 75.93%, and a 630/800 is 78.75%, so it just suggests the curve was small. But based just on those percentages, your adjusted score is still higher than your raw score so I imagine the score is correct.

4 wrong, 8 omitted is basically what your score is, since the student-produced answers that are wrong count the same as an omitted question. So 54 is the max score, take away 12 for the number you missed and you get 42, take away one more because you got 4 wrong (which is 4 quarter points off). 41/54

Yup. I got a 3-0-740
