Confused about score choice...

For example, schools like Tufts don't allow score choice. There is a rather large imbalance between my ACT and SAT (34 vs. 2080). However, my SAT IIs are really good (MathII 790, Chem 760, Bio M 780). Am I allowed to score choice against my ALL of my SATs (taken 2x) and send my SAT IIs, or does this mean I have to send all or nothing of all SAT-named things (lol don't you love my terminology?)? Most admissions websites only mention SATs and that sending all dates is to your advantage, etc... but I'd rather not send my SATs at all and they mention nothing about SATs vs. SAT IIs in score choice.

The admissions website for Tufts says that you can do one of two options:

OPTION 1: SAT Reasoning Test and two SAT Subject Tests of your choice.
OPTION 2: ACT with the Writing Section.
(When taken multiple times, we will use your highest subscore for each section.)

So this means that if you want to send your subject scores, then you must also send in your reasoning test scores. If you want to send in the ACT, then you only send in the ACT.

If you’re worried about your SAT score, do you think you have the time to practice this summer and maybe take it again in October? Those SAT II scores are great, so I understand your dilemma. Hope it works out for you!

Oh and those options are basically the same for college of arts and sciences and school of engineering, except that Tufts recommends/requires specific SAT subject scores for the different majors. Meaning, for school of engineering, they require Math II + Physics/Chem, and for a math/sci major, they recommend Math II + Science.

trueblue25, what you mentioned was my issue. I’m most likely applying to engineering but if not I’m putting down Chemistry as my intended major.
