Ok, I'm an international student. I've enrolled in the Aug 27 Orientation session, what I'm really confused about is that classes start 25th September, and the move in date is around that also. So as someone who does not live in LA, what am I supposed to do for that 1 whole month in the middle? Is there something I do not know, or what? Anyone else in the same boat as me?

Clear this out for me if you can. Much appreciated.

Yes, you'll probably have to go home lol
I don't think you can stay in the US with a F1 visa one month before classes actually start.
I'm an international student too, so I chose not to attend orientation.

Yeah, I seriously considered that issue before signing up for orientation. You have to be on a visitor visa if you want to stay in LA the month before classes start. I'm not sure if you have to go back to your country or you could just switch the visa that's effective as soon as classes start. Either way, a round trip and the cost of orientation kind of turned me off, even though I know I'll miss the fun that everyone talks about. Plus, late orientations almost equal not being able to choose the classes you want.
