Hi, I'm an international student and I still need to get my I-20 (I know it's kind of late) and I think that I won't get the F1 visa in time to go to orientation. Plus, even if I go, I would have to find a place to stay there in LA or return to my country.

So, I'll probably have to skip orientation. Will I be missing A LOT? What should I really do?

Call the office explain your situation so you'll be able to enroll in classes. otherwise you're missing an introduction to the school and the chance to meet people but really it's not the end of the world to miss it.

My roommate chills with people who met during international orientation 98% of the time, seriously that is not an exaggeration. I know because they always come over.

Yeah, I was referring to after orientations are over. I think there is a rule about international students not being able to stay on a student VISA one month prior to the beginning of classes. It's all so complicated...

Oh, international orientation (hosted by dashew center) is around September. So I'll probably go to that one, it's also obligatory for us. I'm more worried about signing up for classes if I can't go to any of the normal orientations.

Well i went but didnt feel too necessary, tho it was fun and all. Can you get in on tourist visa? I'm Canadian so it wasn't much of a hassle but depends on what country I guess.
