Confused. Problems with Opus...

So on my Opus account my transcript is listed on my to do list, yet is says "initiated" right by it, whatever that means. However, on the common app it says Emory has downloaded my transcript so I'm kinda of confused. Do I need to send it by mail or something? What is wrong? Oh and for Oxford Scholars should I send my first quarter grades? they are all high 90's so.. I'm guessing it won't hurt but my guidance counselor told me if they want them they will request them....

We are really the wrong people to ask. Just call your admissions councilor, they can tell you the status of your file.

I agree with the above poster, call admissions. My son’s OPUS page has nothing listed under the to do list and he got a letter in the mail saying that they received his “completed” application. Did you get that letter?

well, I sent it in the 15th so maybe they just have not updated it? and I doubt I would have received a letter yet. What I was trying to ask though, was if you just had your transcript sent from your guidance counselor in the common app… because that is what I did.

don’t worry, i had that before but it went away after few days.

My son’s transcript was uploaded by the GC to the common app attached to the school forms.

“initiated” means that they have not received it yet. I had this problem, too.

Here is part of the e-mail they sent me…
“While processing your Early Decision admission application, we noted that the items listed below as “initiated” have not yet been added to your file. All materials that have been received have been sorted and filed with your application. In order to complete your file, please have all items below that are listed as “initiated” sent to our office as soon as possible.”

You should call them. The same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago and I got that same email. It turns out it was just some sort of fluke and the lady said she would change the status of my application and send it to admissions.

Hey thanks guy’s, yeah I received that same email about the missing materials, so I followed up with an email asking about it and they said they had indeed received my transcripts but were working on a “backlog” so things were being updated slowly. So if anyone else has this problem, there is no need to freak out like I did haha

The Emory scholar essay is on my “to do list.” I emailed it to them and received a confirmation email in return…7 days ago(on the deadline). Were there special instructions for the essay? Like what to write on the subject line?

^ I’m having the same problem with my scholar essay. Still on my to do list and i mailed & emailed it to them on the 15th.

^ same here lol… Looks liked they’re backed up.

Have yall’s scholar essay been taken off the to do list yet? Mine hasn’t… starting to get a little worried

Mine still says “initiated.”

Mine’s off the to-do list. Which is surprising, because my GC sent it on the 15th, so I figured it’d take them a while to process it.

I’m still waiting for it to be taken off too… not happy.

From what I remember (when I went through the application process a couple years ago), initiated is pretty much synonymous to “received but not evaluated/processed”.

If it’s been awhile, I’d call …

Wow, my scholars essay is still on the to-do list. Unbelievable cause I e-mailed it and mailed it in via snail mail.
