retake the classes you failed! It will help your gpa!!!

I just wrote that i took one class i failed over the summer and got an A so my gpa is at a 2.2. I know that taking my failed classes will be very helpful which is what im doing now. i wanted to apply this fall and i wanted to know if i should because i could be at a 2.5-2.7 if i pass all the classes (B or better). I have met with a counselor and was told that. I was going to drop out if i didnt do better but it seems like i am so i guess im still trying.

way to set the bar.

Don’t give a **** about what anyone on this board says. Work hard and excel and show them up.

The idea that any Community College student can develop enough of an ego to slam fellow CC students for their grades is pretty mindblowing. What a joke.

I would advise you to take easy classes (UC transferable) to raise your GPA. If there is a sudden improvement in your gpa and you keep it up, universities will look at that and cut you some slack. That means if you get all A’s and B’s from now on you’ll be in a much better position. Don’t give up :)

Yah don’t give a **** if people give you good advice. If you keep failing, just keep flushing time and money down the toilet.

@college: Lol@thinking the “community” part of community college means we are all alike and will support people who can’t pass remedial classes.

It’s true, and although the comments here are way brutal, you unfortunately can’t sugar coat something like this. If you can’t handle community college classes, then university is going to be utter hell. Worse than hell. However, if you can retake those classes and ace them, then you have some sort of chance. What exactly is your major, and what are your current grades? You apparently haven’t gotten your act together as you say you have, so get on that as soon as possible. Get above a 3.0, and maybe sign some TAG’s with certain UC’s if you think you’re up to that sort of challenge (and yes, if this is your best AFTER you’ve gotten your act together then it WILL be a challenge and you should rethink your path).

However it all depends on you. You have the power to redeem yourself. I wish you luck in all your future endeavors.

Rita, here’s my advice.

If you want to get into a cal state, or a uc, you have to put your heart and soul into it, give CC your 100% effort. If that means you end up with a 3.0 or a 1.0 it doesn’t matter. What matters is that years from now you’ll look back on this part of your life and you’ll regret nothing, because you knew you gave it your all. If you don’t give it 100% you’ll always be left with that annoying sensation in the back of your head wondering what could have been.

I believe in you, and I believe that anyone, given the right amount of effort, can achieve a better life and a better education through the Community College system, because after all, that was the reason it was created–to give second chances.

Secondly, i recommend some soul searching to clarify your priorities and goals, because to give 100% of your effort, you have to know without a doubt in your mind that this is what you want.

My major is Biology and the classes i failed was Calculus 2 i guess my school divides it into parts. I do want to hear the truth that is why i posted the trend. But I guess Community College is remedial now that was news to me. I expect to have a more challenged time at a University level course so i know what im expecting. I got 2 fails that was why my gpa dropped dramatically. It over a 2.0 now so i guess my original post needs to be updated. And i heard that if i retake those classes it might be close to a 3.0 by the end of the semester. I do not regret anything i learn from all my mistakes so trust me my efforts are paying off
