Confusion in colleges

Hi,

I got an admit in UPenn for an MS in Robotics... I have applied for Berkeley, UCSD, Illinois and CMU as well for similar courses ( Intelligent Systems and Robotics)...

Which of these colleges is better for the foll factors :-

Overall Course

Financial Aid and TA/RA

Social Life

Option for PHd.

Please do help as i wanna decide before the end of the month...

Aditya

You stole my name.

Bout your question, Berkeley = CMU > Illinois > UCSD, for most tech related matters.

For financial aid, as a grad student you’re probably not going to get it at any of those places. Your best bet (as you probably already know) is being a TA/RA. To be an RA (research assistant), you need prior research experience. TAs sort of come in two types: (1) where you teach a class, which gets you a tuition waiver at most places, and (2) where you help a professor teach a class, which just gives you a stipend or credit hours. For obvious reasons, the first one is really competitive.

Social life- U Illinois >> UCSD >>>>>>> CMU/Berkeley.

I don’t understand your PhD question.

Hey Bluebox, you’re a CS major right na.
Why did you choose UNC?

^ Oh sorry typo. Line had to end with right.

Yup, I’m a cs major.

Of the schools I got into UNC had the least tech feel to it, and focused on comp security.

bluebox, ur opinions on upenn? The GRASP lab is there is really impressive from what i’ve seen. how is the univ?
