Congrats ED! Now, Ask a Current Cornellian...

^Thanks! What are you majoring in?

what’s the max. on ap credits? does it differ by school/college? (I’m in engineering (: )

i’m pretty sure it’s 30, but engineering might be different cause of weird science/math things. you can probably find this information on the college’s website so check there to be sure

^Hold on… where does it say max 30?? The only page I see is [Cornell Engineering : Advanced Placement Credit Table](http://www.engineering.cornell.edu/student-services/academic-advising/academic-information/ap-credit/ap-credit-table.cfm)

lol 30??? i was thinking best case scenario, 15

Oh, and I feel really stupid for asking this, but how does the credit system at Cornell work anyways?

And you know how Engineering doesn’t award credit for AP Stats? So if you decide to dual degree with CAS after first year, you can still get the credit for AP Stats, right?

And what about AP Chinese? lol It didn’t mention anything on that lol

30 might be for other schools. i know it’s the max ILR will take, but i have no idea what engineering’s like, so i’m sorry if i misled you

haha no turns out you were right. i looked back on some old threads and one engineer said he/she was able to use 26 ap credits

from what i could tell:
-the credits get counted toward the degree, and not just place you out and make you take more advanced classes.
-as a result, your schedule will be lighter/early graduation might be an option

^So is it 30 or not? Sorry, I’m just confused lol

No, engineering does not have a max amount of AP credits you can receive.

All of those do count towards your degree, and things like AP Calc AB and AP Stats do not give you any credit.

How do you prevent yourself from eating too much and not exercising? apparently the food @ Cornell is great!
