CONGRATS to grads (and their parents!)

I know some posters and children of posters to the Woo board are graduating tomorrow...CONGRATULATIONS on your great accomplishment and THANK YOU for sharing your Wooster experience and wisdom on the board, hope you continue to do so!!!

BTW - we got the phone call from the notification system about the tornado warning the other night, hope things are OK on campus!!!

We received that phone call as well, and my daughter isn’t even at Woo yet! Are we on the notification list already??

Not complaining…just struck us as strange since we live over 100 miles away.

it’s the emergency notification system called ConnectED. you can list several numbers and email for the system to notify you whenever it has to be set off for emergencies, including those non-weather related. it is the same system set in place at Virginia Tech now. and yes, students who have not even started yet are already in the system. they will have the chance to update and include more contact methods once they get to campus.

and it was just fine. it rained hard for 10 minutes, and then was completely calm. wayne co. never even got anything from that tornado other than rain and maybe a slight increase in wind. :)

and congrats Hindoo!!!

Thank you!! My daughter graduated on Monday, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Wooster helped open a million doors for her. She was accepted to grad school at NYU’s prestigious Fine Arts Institute and into the museum studies/art history programs at Boston U. and Case Western. However, she got an unbelievable offer she couldn’t refuse from the University of Kentucky, where she’ll be going for her masters this fall. Good luck to all of you. Wooster is a gem, and you (or your son/daughter) are fortunate to be there. Make the most of it!

Wow Hindoo, that’s really fantastic!! Congrats to you and your family. :)

so, will we be seeing FLVDAUGHTER on campus this fall? :D

Congratulations to Hindoo’s daughter! Wishing her all the best in Kentucky. You must be proud.

Thanks, Suzukimomto2! … But there’s been a change in plans. She’s putting graduate school on hold for two years in order to do Teach for America in Houston. Either way, I’m thrilled!

I’ve heard Teach for America is hard to get into nowadays. What a great opportunity for your daughter.
