"Congratulations! According to UC calculations, you rank in the top 9 percent"?

Does this mean I get to choose which UC to attend? If not, then which UCs participate in this?

No. Being ELC eligible means if you are not accepted into your choice UC, you will be offered a spot at UC Merced.

@Gumbymom Where does it specifically state that?

What are your stats? @chris3488

Here is an excerpt on the UC Website and I will link you the complete information. The website does not state which UC you will be offered a spot, but the default campus has been UC Merced. If you are not accepted into any other campus, UC admissions will forward your application to UC Merced.

:::
If you are a California resident and rank in the top 9 percent of students in your California high school class — and your high school participates in our ELC program — you may be eligible for ELC designation.

ELC status adds value to the application and is one of the 14 factors considered when applications are reviewed. Additionally, ELC students not admitted to any of their campus choices are offered a spot at a UC campus that has space, if minimum UC requirements are met.

I got that too, yay!!! Okay @chris3488 after you complete your application you click again on the tab that says “My UC application” and it should be there if you got it. @Applecake the notification I got says I was in the top 9% of my high school graduating class, so his stats won’t be much help. There is a widget on the UC website that tells you if you’re in the top 9% of the nation’s applicants, which is another pathway to get guaranteed admission to UC Merced. Here it is: http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/freshman/california-residents/admissions-index/
