Congratulations!

to the Wesleyan Class of 2011. And my sincere sympathies for those of you are not able to come (honestly, everything will turn out all right, wherever you wind up.)

As I've done for the past couple of years, I'm pasting this link to a New Yorker cartoon, suitable for framing and t-shirting. However, it is with the added knowledge that this month marks the fortieth anniversary of its original publication. One possible subtext could be, "Some Things Never Change":

I looked at this a while ago and meant to reply...

I like that cartoon and all of your input has been so helpful with my, and I'm sure many others', college searches, questions, and whatnot.

Thank you!

A bumpity-bump for BRAND_182!!!!!!

lol thanks! I can't wait to visit!!!! :D

Thanks OP - for a few days I was absolutely sure I'd go to Wes... but then I did a little more research and wasn't thrilled about the offerings Wes had for its students interested in music. Its CSS program looked so awesome though!!!! And the science research students and faculty were doing looked like a lot of fun. Though I'm extremely grateful Wes offered me admission to the class of 2011 and still hold the institution with high regard, I think I'll be happy over at Swarthmore. REPRESENT!

See you on the playing fields -- oh, wait, Swarthmore is not in NESCAC. Good luck with majoring in music at Swarthmore. ;)

Fhimas8888, congrats on getting into Swarthmore! Their Music Department is small but truly excellent, and the faculty will make SURE you are happy there.

johnwesley, just to let you know though, I was sure for almost a week that I was going to Wesleyan, but I just got cold feet worrying about the availability and ease of access to the resources Wes offered. I'm sure they'd have made it possible for students to take classes at Hartford Conservatory or maybe even Yale, but all that requires a car, and logistics are really the last thing a college student should have to be worrying about.

Skie - I really hope so too! Thanks!!
