Just wanted to share that yesterday, my first guess was a complete bomb even though I was congratulating myself as I hit the submit button :rofl::rofl::tired_face:. It was (silver) platter, (red) herring, (black) ice, and (brown) sugar.

Did anyone else get fooled? I’ve done this a time or two before but I should have learned to not be fooled if you can’t come up with a short and reasonable title for the connection. This one would have been “words that when a color is added to them, create a well known noun phrase”. Never would have fit in the box! :joy: I was dumb.

Your perfectly reasonable grouping reminds me of the Alice in Wonderland connections several of us thought of a while ago. Made perfect sense, was one of each color.

I recognized yellow quickly, but felt it was safer to start with other categories for which the 4 words were more distinct from one another.

My favorite of these so far was a few weeks back (maybe 116 or so?) when the first three words on my grid were BEATLE, STONE, and WING, but none of the categories actually involved rock bands. Well played.

I had to think for a minute or two about too many words for one connection. Then I realized the yellow (should have had it in an instant) and the rest fell into place. I knew generally how the purple connected but not as specific as shown.
