connections to the east coast?

do many kids get internships or jobs on the east coast?

Miami has a well-established, well-regarded internship program in Washington, DC. Many Miami alums get jobs in DC and NYC. The other popular cities (besides Cincinnati and Columbus, OH) that many Miami alums ending moving to after graduating are Chicago and Atlanta. Although, Miami alums reside/work in literally ever US state.

how about boston?

I don't know how many internships Miami offers in the Boston area. My best guesstimate is that over 50% of graduating seniors each year will initially go to one of the 6 cities listed above. That said, the great thing about Miami is that it is large enough for you to find other graduating Miami seniors heading to every major city nationwide. Boston is a city with a healthy economy, so I think that it's reasonable to assume, given that 3500 students graduate each year from Miami, that several hundred graduating seniors are headed there annually. Miami has organized, active alumni associations in 40 major cities nationwide - including Boston. I recall people I graduated with moving directly to cities as diverse as San Francisco, Denver, Houston, and yes, Boston. I've moved to several cities since graduating, and the local alumni association has always been very helpful from both a networking and social perspective.

I know many people who are now working in Charlotte, NYC, Connecticut and DC (I'm a sophomore)
