Cons of Georgetown?

List away!

Jet pathway, lots of noise, all day.

the financial aid packages arent too crash hot

Anything administrative has a pretty good change of being done shoddily if not downright incompetantly. Housing, security, food, parking, etc.

wireless internet is kinda dodgy.

There were times I wouldn't be getting wireless internet access in the library of all places.

The relatively low endowment/low alumni giving rate sort of negatively impacts a lot of things (think Brown).

During the application process, I was disappointed that the app wasn't online... and the georgetown site isn't very helpful in my opinion.

I dunno if this is true, but from the pictures I've seen the campus just seems.....scrunched? The fin. aid will probably be my biggest issue.

The campus is beautiful.
But yes, poor endowment.
Also a fair amount of liberal arts requirements (but maybe I just feel this way because it came down to GTown and Brown for me)

There should be MORE liberal arts requirements IMHO. (I'm a UChicago person can you tell?)

The fact that we cannot get wireless on the fourth floor of the LIBRARY really bothers me. This is the 21st century, and it is our library...and the 2nd floor is too loud to do any REAL studying.

The campus is small, but Georgetown builds vertically. UChicago's campus is also small, when you consider how much of it you will actually use.

I was accepted to Georgetown and Cornell. I understand that Cornell is seen as the lowest of the Ivies, but I must say that I believe that Georgetown is the better school overall. It has a pride that is not often seen at other schools, and its basketball program creates a competitive pride that I enjoy immensely. Having been in the military for a term of service, and going back in once I finish Graduate school, I have to say that Georgetown is the perfect place for me. I am truly a Hoya-4-Life!!!

Yea, Georgetown is a pretty good place for military-oriented people. If nothing else, you'll run into O-4s,5s, and 6s all the time.
