Cons of U.Chicago??

I wonder when I'll get my rejection letter :-)

Don't get your hopes up. Even if you are rejected, I severely doubt you will ever get a letter. lol

haha I guess thats true.

Oh silly Chicago.

My cousin got his letter four years ago, I guess they're still the same people. Teddy's still up there, i bet he wants more papers to sign :-)

"Sorry, you didn't make it in this years admissions competition. Good bye."
(Read aloud to the tune of the AOL thinger).

I just got my rejection letter in the mail. O'Neill didn't even sign this one...
And there's a little reminder saying that people still transfer in each year.

wait, are you on the regular waitlist, or the transfer?

The big problem with Admissions this year has been with transfers. When I said you'd never get a letter, I thought you were on the transfer waitlist.

But I'm sorry to hear you didn't make it.

I think ridethecliche is on the regular waitlist.

I'm sorry you didn't get in, but all the other colleges you have gotten into are all great so don't worry too much about it:) good luck

I know :-)
I'm happy to be going to wesleyan. It was the 2nd/3rd school in my hierarchy but I know a few people who didn't get into any of the schools that they wanted to go to. I got lucky enough to get into a school that I love, and get into a program there. The only school I applied to and didn't really like had a free app.(common app.), so nothing was lost :-)
Chicago's too emo for me anyway. There's this girl I talk to who's going there this fall and she got a FULL RIDE and I was talking to her on MSN and she was talking about how stupid she is and how she's terrified of going there with all the smart people.
Haha, I really do <3 UChicago :-/
One of my best friends is going there. Here's the kicker, I haven't seen her for 6 years, which is when I moved to the US from India. Now that would have been cool, to go to a school with an old friend (Saying that makes me feel like I'm 30, yikes).

Oy Vey, c'est la vie. (I realize those are two different languages but I don't think that could have been said any better)

ridethecliche-
Sometimes things work out for the best. My guess is that you will love Wesleyan. Both Uchicago and Wesleyan are great schools. Maybe your best friend and you will end up at grad school together!

Now to answer the original question by the poster:
The con of UChicago is the frigid cold weather and the wind coming off the lake. I have walked in 25 degrees below zero and the wind made it feel like 35 below. That is cold!!

I gotta say I love the winter!

The direct area around U of C wasn't so bad. But where I had to go to catch my bus wasn't the best. Our bus had to stop and wait for another bus, because some kids in a house threw a rock at our window and the window cracked badly. The trains stop I went to had tons of drug dogs and it wasn't exactly the most comfortable experience.

But then again I'm from the suburbs and drive myself everywhere...

Do you drive yourself nuts?

Only on sundays, I bet.
