Conservative Ivy

If you were to rank all the ivy's from 1 being the most conservative to the last being the least conservative; how would you rank them? Wouldn't cornell be up there due to the fact that they are the only Ivy that still has ROTC within its gates?

Oh, no no no no no.... Cornell is most definitely very liberal, probably one of if not the most so in my opinion. My vote for most conservative Ivy would have to go to Dartmouth, though Dartmouth is by no means a Bob Jones University. All the Ivys are quite liberal.

I'd say Columbia, Brown, and Yale are the most liberal.

And Dartmouth, Princeton, and Penn are more conservative in comparison.

all of the ivies are quite liberal. Coincidence? i think not ;)

Cornell is very liberal, followed by probably Brown.

I'm sorry to sound stupid, but what exactly are the views of conservatives vs. liberals? And what does that have to do with college? I apologize for naivete.

Liberals want to make hard working people support all the lazy lowlifes who don't want to work. Conservatives want the lazy people to get a job and support themselves like they do.

That about sums it up

liberals are more equal opportunity for those who seek it.

conservatives, on the cornell campus at least, are known to be "red-necks" ... the conservative newspaper on campus published a VERY disturbing newspaper article last semester looking at the "Color of crime: Ithacompton." It basically said only black people are the ones committing crime in Ithaca. Here are a few select quotes form the article:

"It is a fact that blacks are more violent then whites"

"Until the black community accepts that a problem exists and the media reports crime in an honest way, we will be left walking the streets being told by the authorities that tiny Asian girls and thuggish black males should be treated with equal suspicion. Just remember to be safe and carry your Smith & Wesson."

A small article in the next paper was entitled "Preserving the great white might." I didn't want to read it.

In the current edition of the Cornell conservative newspaper, one article starts "Let me just get this warning out of the way: Whenever someone introduces a speaker by stating, “I first met her in San Francisco at a conference on queer film,” just leave. Seriously, just walk out the door."

Hopefully that might sum up some of the conservative viewpoints from Cornell. Is it really surprising that most of the student body is liberal?

"Liberals want to make hard working people support all the lazy lowlifes who don't want to work. Conservatives want the lazy people to get a job and support themselves like they do.

That about sums it up"

actually, this is far from the truth. nothing is this black and white. im sorry youre so ****ing ignorant.

I can only post about Dartmouth, but I'd say its pretty balanced. There's a small vocal very liberal group, a small vocal very conservative group, and most people fall in between or aren't that political.

Then agian, that may be considered more conservative by comparison.

"actually, this is far from the truth. nothing is this black and white. im sorry youre so ****ing ignorant."

If you couldn't tell, there was a hint of sarcasm in there. I thought you liberals were suposed to be open minded?

I was under the impression that ivies were very conservative compared to top liberal arts schools.

Ivies tend have top business and law schools, which are generally conservative.

100% on the spot.

Liberals, typically associated with Democrats, care about fairness of outcome: they support government regulation, welfare programs, and generally a more open view towards moral issues like abortion and gay marriage. They're the hippies. Conservatives, typically associated with Republicans, care about fairness of process: they support a more laissez-faire economy and lower taxes. Morally, they are more, well, conservative. They're the rednecks.

Hope that helps out.

The rednecks and hippies are the extremes of both sides, and I hate them both equally. Both are worthless trashthat doesn't deserve to live

Both are really just stupid constructs of otherization.
They are illusionary.

Join the Rev.

HAHA.

liberals, at least socially liberal ones, place greater emphasis on individual freedoms

conservatives = Pat Robertson and Karl Rove

enjoy!

A conservative ivy is about as likely to find as a Muslim pope..Sheesh.

Liberals: Want to regulate economy, high taxes, income redistribution, multiculturalism dogma, weak on security,
Conservatives: Want to regulate morals, in cases want to impose Christianity, religious dogma, war on drugs.

Both sides are terrible.

libertarian is the best, but I don't agree with evything they say, but they are better than democrat or republicans

multiculturalism a bad thing?

When you get sick do you take an aspirin or go to see the local shaman?
