I live in NYC, as soon as I saw barrons post I told my dad to get it @ B&N. But he said that they were hiding in the back and that you have to ask them for it. So if you really want a copy you must ask them for it.

and FYI the cover is a hot neon greenish yellow color.

We should have a Fantasy College league where we draft colleges going into the admission season, and then we get points based on how the colleges we picked perform statistically and rankings-wise.

Correct. Selec=15%

What a great idea.....we expect you to organize this for next year~~

what are the big changes in weighting when compared to last year?

Are we discussing stats from class of 2008? Let's be sure all the folks here know what the rankings are using.

someone tried starting that this year i think

Hahaha, how awesome. I mean... sad.

Entering 2004

That is right I just know that some folks here may be new and might think the stats are newer than they are.

Thanks Barron for the early fun!!

Blue, yes. UC-Davis is the second one.

No problem--fast and furious posting so I had to take shortcuts as my typing stinks.

I just want to know if you wore a wig and sunglasses when you scammed the rag this year!! HA HA You must have burned the tip of your fingers as you put it all on the CC for the rest of us to play with......what pure joy.

I feel a little bad about saying where I found it--there goes that source next year. I'm sure they will hear from US News. At least I paid cash so they can't get me.

TOP PUBLICS (based on the same preliminary data from above. If I screwed up there, it'll translate here as well. Please don't regard these as fina. barrons had "UCSD" listed twice in his list for example, I can only assume he meant UC Davis the second time he mentioned it)

1 University of California/Berkeley 0
2 University of Virginia 0
3 University of California/Los Angeles 0
University of Michigan/Ann Arbor -1
5 University of North Carolina/Chapel Hill 0
6 College of William & Mary 0
7 University of California/San Diego +1
8 University of Wisconsin/Madison -1
9 Georgia Institute of Technology +1
10 University of California/Irvine +2
11 University of Illinois/Urbana Champaign -2
12 University of California/Santa Barbara +1
University of Washington +2
14 University of California/Davis -3
Pennsylvania State University/University Park +2
16 University of Florida 0
17 University of Texas/Austin -3

BC, Brandeis, Case Western, U of R... all below Lehigh???

Just to note, by data for the 22+ colleges came from this post:

As you can see, I had to figure out the rankings/order myself, so it might not be accurate. This post appears to be accurate with regards to Lehigh as far as being the same as what barrons posted.

Right on publics except UCSD is after WM, not tied.

Thanks, just in time to fix it :) And thanks for all of your info as well :) That also means my San Diego placement was a little off in the first list, but I'm sure people can adjust that.

The two surprises I see on the publics is Irvine muscling it's way into #10 (that puts four UCs in the top 10 publics now), and Texas-Austin falling from 14 to presumably 17.
