<p>The swimming aspect could be a ‘hook’ BUT that is only true IF there has already been discussions with the coach and he is willing to support application in admissions (assuming stats for major are with reasonable range). If that hasn’t happened (I.e., isn’t a recruited athlete or preferred walk-on) then the time in the water will count towards EC only. </p>

<p>From what I know in the current CM class this is above the average, so Id say you have a very good chance. </p>
