is this a good sign or irrelevant?

so far i have had 2 phone calls from the financial aid office at my D's ED school. the first call was to ask if i could rush them a copy of my 2005 tax return. the second call today was a question about my return. at the end of the call, the FA officer said, "we're good to go." now i know that means she's done with her part and that has nothing to do with the admissions side, but when i was reading the college's materials, it said that once admissions decisions are made, then financial aid is allocated and only students at the very end of the process may be affected (in terms of their FA award) if financial aid is already depleted...

so, here's my obvious question... is a phone call from financial aid on november 30th a good sign? especially when ED letters go out in about a week? according to the archives here at CC, this college mailed their ED decisions last year approximately one week before dec. 15th...

Maybe. You'll know for sure in a week.

It would certainly get my hopes up. However, as a warning, there were rampant rumors that a certain top 25 university was calling those students it intended to accept or possibly already accepted. It seemed preposterous that every single applicant was called, and there were those who were no called. Well, some of those not called got in, and some of those who got the call did not get in. So try to not to focus too much on it. It hurts more when you have "counted" on something. But, as I said in the beginning phrase....
