My school doesnt have GPA scale on 4.0 they only have a percentage score of up to 95%. I want to know what my GPA is but cant find a formula to calculate it. I asked someone in my class and they told me its (x-55)/10=GPA where x is your percentage my question is if this is a real formula to do so.

hmm...divide by 25 is what i was told.

why would the percent only go to 95. that confuses me so

Heh, is a sub-55% possible? If so, you could have a negative GPA :)

it goes only up to 95 because my school only gives 4 letter grades and thats it. Here are the grades
E- 95
G- 85
S- 75
N- 55
so thats why its out of 95 so im not sure how to calculate my GPA is this method correct?

WEll

i might work the same

do like(your grade %)/95=x/4.0 and solve the proportion

strange letter grading there...

but that wouldnt work because i know for sure that a 3.0 GPA is an 85% out of 95 and from ur equation i get a 75 equals 3.0 which cant be.

ur school is odd.

yeah i know thats why im having trouble calculating my GPA

rofl, whoa that's interesting. that's like my elementary school way of grading...

E = excellent
G = good
S = satisfactory
N = needs improvement

best way would be to go ask your guidance counselor. they have all the answers to everything, believe me. (unless you have a sucky one. then you're screwed over~!)

how many times have you needed improvement?

haha it reminded me of an elementary school grading system, too. i still don't compeletely understand the 95 % maximum thing. I agree, ask your GC, and if she doesn't know, then you school should get a new grading scale.
