Hi everyone, I am a sophomore that is constantly thinking about college, so I came up with a cool idea for a really good teacher recommendation. I had an amazing history teacher freshman year, he also runs two clubs that I am in (MUN and Ski Club), and I will likely have him again senior year, so I asked him to start writing my recommendation now. This will be a really good change over time wouldn't you agree?

This isn’t an essay topic… Why did you post this in the essay forum? Additionally, you have to have a teacher rec from a teacher who taught you 11/12. If you don’t have this teacher senior year, you’re out of luck. Honestly, why are you even dealing with this now? In two years, you will most likely have a more applicable teacher. You’re a sophomore…

I think it could work.

I think OP is going to maintain contact with the teacher and get an updated recommendation every year…? OP, your idea, albeit interesting, won’t really have too much effect on your college admissions… You’ll have an alright recommendation, but that’s all it is.

I think this is a terrible imposition on that teacher. Leave him/her alone. And what does this have to do with an essay. Really put these things aside until Spring of Jr year when you will have more maturity.
