Hi. As I spent 90% of my first two semesters as a transfer student in class, my room, and the library, I'm pretty clueless about the cool places around Vandy.

I usually got sick of waiting in line at Rand so I ended up in Sitar Indian restaurant 3 to 4 times a week. If you guys know of any cool places to go, please add some locations to my miserable little list. I'm looking for good restaurants, affordable restaurants, lounges, bars (turning 21 soon), decent supermarkets, where ever you think will make life easier!

Oh, and all the Chinese restaurants I know of serve vomit-inducing food.

And I'm not much of a Greek or party person at all. More like the weekly cigar and intellectual discourse person.

Near West End/Kirkland Hall:
Tarboosh (Jerusalem salad and gyro and buffalo wings, yum)
Sitar Indian Restaurant
Coco Cafe (24 hours)
Ken's Sushi (Law School)
Samurai Sushi (Elliston)
O'Sake Sushi (Elliston)
Mellow Mushroom ... Pizza place with ridiculous pizzas (Law School)
Mediterranean place (Law School)
Elliston Place Pipe and Tobacco (yay! carcinogens!)
Bombay Palace (never been there)
Satay Grill, Bric Tops, Ruth's Chris ... all overpriced.

Downtown:
Ichiban (?) Japanese place
BB King Blues Bar
Krav Maga place (don't know if it's good, and I don't think I'll have time anyway)

Peabody:
Fat Straw (Never been there, heard of it, though)
