Cool things you're doing this summer?

Studying Precalculus
Working at Hobby Lobby
Trying to buy a car.
Working out.- Try to get 6 pack. I was so close then Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Christmas parties hit.
Spend time mentoring younger elemetry-middleschool boys

I’m going to try and get an internship.

Germany for the summer!!
Stanford summer college!!

Don’t know yet…
Get a job.
Travel somewhere w/ family. Either somewhere in Europe, or maybe Alaska.
Gear up for college.
Watch way too much TV and movies.

Hopefully I’ll be taking Calculus at the University of Chicago with other undergrads. This will the college experience I need. Excited!

And possibly also get a job.

@elnamo nice! Are you planning on pursuing a career choice as a neuroscientist?

I really really REALLY want to get accepted into the Jackson Lab Summer Student Program or one of the other internships I’m applying to.

But that is not at all likely to happen…so, if it does not, I want to work at a summer camp July and a small cancer research facility August.

I will be trying to get accepted by research programs. I won’t know if I’m going to any until about March/April. I don’t really know if I’ll get accepted to any of them. I have a bunch of science ECs and I was a Siemens semifinalist this year, but my GPA will probably get me rejected.

That being said, if I don’t get accepted anywhere (very likely to happen), I’ll just volunteer, possibly travel, and work on another computational science project this summer. Oh, and I’ll read, write, hopefully make a Facebook or iPhone app and live. Possibly start on college essays.

This is going to sound really sad, but I have actually never been to a summer program before this year. Every year, I was going to apply, but then some health/teacher problems happened right around the application period and I missed all the deadlines. So this year I just really want to get out of the house during the summer for once.

“This is going to sound really sad, but I have actually never been to a summer program before this year.”

Lol, only on CC. The majority of people spend their summers watching cartoons and eating whatever food they can find between the couch cushions.

Something in the general area :)

If I don’t get into any research programs then I’ll probably take some classes at the local CC and spend every waking moment I have wakeboarding.

continue research at an oncology lab at harvard med :stuck_out_tongue:
give out tours at the state house
study ap bio nd chem
volunteer hours at a local summer program, teaching kids science and arithmetic

maybe travel for a week to china?
