Core Vs. Divisional Studies

Hey everyone,
I will be attending BU this fall and it’s around that time where im sure many are beginning to decide which route they want to take. I personally am leading towards the core, yet i was wondering if anyone had any information on both programs. I’ve researched both online, but i was just wondering if anyone would offer their views on both. It seems as if core is very humanities based, very small, and for me. Yet this comes with some reserves. I read that only 500 freshamn decide to enroll in the core. Why so little? Is it that demanding as opposed to a much easier divisional studies?

Any info would be great!
Thanks

core is not more demanding, it just has fewer options...u dont get to pick ur courses u just take "core humanities" or "core natural sciences." for divisional u can take anything u want...for example, in sargent, i needed 3 humanities and 2 social sciences...i looked in the course manual and chose to take classical greek civilization, archaeology, and greek mythology for humanities, and lifespan developmental psychology and sociology for social sciences. divisional is much less limiting, but core is good for people who like structure and don't know which subjects they would be interested in learning more about.

There's another thread about this on the 3rd page, along with many others.

oo thnks! i wanted this badly!
