haha NEGATORY. im going to UNC!

=/ I haven't gotten an email yet.

Just got a "we regret to inform you email". Oh well, I wasn't expecting on anyways. Good luck to the rest of you.

^^^Ditto for DS

Me neither. Oh well!

i didnt get it either. at least i'm in though and going there next weekend for mosaic. life could be worse

Does not getting an e-mail automatically imply a rejection?

Failed attempt.

What were all your stats?

I want to see just how many amazing people got rejected for this scholarship.

failed w/ 2330 sat and a 34 act. better than A avg (~4.1) w/ very strong transcript course-wise. weak ecs tho.

anyone know if eng dept gives out merit based aid and grants? or how often they'll simply knock down sticker price? im looking at some very hard math here tuition-wise, got hammered on fafsa b/c dad took money out of ira and 401(k) to pay off loans and this had to be counted as income.

i had a 34 ACT, 4.6 GPA...nada. i wasn't expecting it though

Unless something has changed in the last few years - yes, they do, as does the College of Arts and Science. You don't need to qualify for one of the top named scholarships in order to receive a generous merit award. So best of luck to those of you who didn't receive the news you were hoping for yesterday. You all have amazing stats and are going to wind up in very rewarding places.

S had 1580/2330, 1/500, NMF, Pres. Scholar, ecs and leadership - no Cornelius Vanderbilt - hard to accept/understand what it takes anymore - Vandy went from being #1 choice to last -too much $$ in this economy, so sad for him though :(

Pumpkin5...sorry son didn't make it ... when did he get e-mail? Is he up for anything anywhere else?

I'm so sorry for everyone who hasnt gotten it :[.

I havn't gotten a reply yet, I'm checking every hour!

So far all negatives. Do they notify the winners by email or some other method? Did all of the schools send out CVS notices? My daughter applied for engineering and did not receive an email last night.

Probably a good sign that she did not get an email, mixed_success! My S (engineering) got an email rejection last night. (1530/1600; 2240/2400; 4.59 weighted; 3.79 unweighted; lots of APs; selective summer internship; good ECs and recs). :(

beachrunner- he's finalist for top scholarship at prestigious LAC, another somewhat lesser LAC - but it may come down to getting free instate tuition at either UGA honors or Ga Tech. First real disappointment of life - this scholarship search busines and yes, I know that will be the first of many in life - just hard to watch when he's really busted it in high school. For any winners out there - would you mind posting your stats or what you think put you at the top? It was obviously not just about stellar stats. Does anyone know if financial need plays no role (I mean really - they have received our CSS)?
