Ah, okay, thanks @scarletwitchx and @velmah ! Praying right now haha
Someone call and find out
@therealdeal23 perhaps you should call? Why post asking someone else to for it?
If you do a Twitter search you can find letters from last year. The first one I found is dated March 15,2016 and was for Blair.
They said it will be released by Friday
@kmarie111 Who? Did you call?
The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, yes I just called! @velmah
So is it possible it will come before friday or will it arrive on Friday
Just got an email.
“Thank you for taking the time to apply for one of our signature scholarship programs. This year, the merit scholarship selection process was extremely competitive, with fewer than 200 awards offered to over 5,000 applicants. The Cornelius Vanderbilt and Chancellor’s Scholarship Program selection committees have now completed their review of the applicants for these scholarships and I regret to inform you that you have not been selected to receive one of these awards.”
So they’re sending them out today?
Has anyone else received an email? I haven’t gotten anything yet
nothing here, Im getting scared.
for those of you who are parents here, just my cautionary thoughts as the announcement of Vandy’s merit offers come through. If you felt that your student was qualified for merit at Vandy (and I totally know how blessed you are to have raised such hard working, able young adults who have already walked the walk and who may or may not get all the recognition that they deserve in these cycles), —please take a moment to kiss the ground under your feet…and to make sure that your son or daughter does not experience an iota of your angst about winning or not winning a merit scholarship at a school that gives less than 1% of their highly qualified applicants merit offers. There is nothing “fair” about how such recognitions distribute in your senior class or in your region. Model exactly how you want your son or daughter to conduct themselves as the word leaks out on various offers throughout the school from various colleges. This is a good time to really weigh in on concepts like “Chance” and on focusing on things in your control like maxing out the potential best college admissions you can afford as a family. Vandy is a thrilling choice but there are many wonderful college experiences out there and they are too young to have the long view. Graduate schools and internships are just new “next” rounds of hustling and applying and looking hard at value for the dollar. (Neither of my sons ended up going to their top choice colleges…for reasons of not being chosen or not being able to afford a favorite…and then there are years and years more of interviews and applications for so many things). This is a teaching moment and a moment to temper disappointment with positive conduct and a resilient spirit. The winner of the long game is the student who understands how much they personally can impact their own future by giving his or her heart to the university where they eventually put down a deposit in May.
Just got the email. Didn’t get it. Good luck everyone!
Has anyone gotten the scholarship yet
No email yet
For those of you who have received the email, may I ask which School you applied to? (e.g. A&S, Education etc) I know you might not feel like sharing right now, and that is fine too. Good luck to everyone still waiting.
@sursumcorda I applied A&S. Best of luck to you and everyone else who hasn’t heard!
