Cornell 2015 ED Hopefuls

btw how important is legacy in Cornell? Im applying to HumEc

from what I’ve heard - possibly can tip you in against an equally qualified applicant…
but it really makes a huge difference if you have legacy that was very generous - doesn’t have to be a building - just decent $ alum contributions year to year

i have a question
so does ED results come out on Dec 9th?

^YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
THURSDAY DECEMBER 9TH
DO YOU NOT SEE IT LIKE EVERYWHERE??? SERIOUSLY!
lol

lol I don’t get people who are still asking when the decisions come out - it’s right on the front page of the admissions office website, and on the application ID account as well xD

Relax big deal he didn’t know its not the end of the world. I mean, it takes less energy to just say it again than it does to throw a hissy fit

Dumbest question of them all: How did we apply for finaid? I just checked commonapp again, and nowhere does it say “Do you intend to apply for need-based financial aid” for Cornell. Do they assume that you are applying for finaid if you submit the CSS Profile, and that you’re not if you don’t?

@ezalb425 lol yeah I do kind of overact xD

I’m just wondering how some people can’t know yet - I check the Cornell website and my Applicant ID 3-4 times a day everyday in case something new comes up - I check CC every 2 hours. I realize some people are really busy but I’m very busy as well and I still want to go to Cornell so much to be crazily devoting my time to checking these stuff every minute of the day. I guess it’s just different in some ppl :P

I sort of agree with Drelnis they post the question here on CC and don’t look at the Cornell site?

Drelnis, I’m in the same boat. I am really busy with schoolwork and whatnot, but I can’t help but check CC as often as possible. :P

So, if I were admitted, and I wanted to change my major to, say, architecture (from CAS), how easy would the transfer be?

I have no problem with your checking cc. I just find it unnecesary when someone spazes over someone else’s not knowing. Not everyone is obsessed about this and that is okay. A friendly reminder of the deadline is all you need to write

Lawlz. Shouldn’t we drop it? Let’s be a cool forum and TALK about things that have substance. :D

agreed
anyway, anybody have any sort of idea of when they are going to send out our pins?

Hopefully tomorrow! Tomorrow is officially “a couple” days before the decision release date.

Cornell is looking gloomy.

Does it always look like that in the winters?

"As we near the end of early decision application review for Cornell’s Class of 2015, we would like to share with you important information regarding admission decision notification. Please be certain to retain this email for your reference.

You will be able to view your admission decision online on Thursday, December 9, beginning at 5:00 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time) at https://app.applyyourself.com/?id=cornellu</a>. More than 3,000 applicants will be eager to access their online decision at or shortly after 5:00 p.m., so we ask for your patience if you cannot access your decision right away. "

Above is an excerpt of an email I received from Cornell.

They have released the log-in pin and password for decision.

Nervous!

the new ids are out!!!

Just got the E-mail with instructions!!!

@mickjagger: It’s pretty easy to switch majors within your college, but intercollege transfer is tedious as well as difficult.

Especially if youre switching to architecture or hotel school

So does anyone here have any idea what the actual decision page looks like?

I think I’ll suffer a cardiac arrest if the page read something like:

Congratulations! Cornell University receives over 3,000 applicants for Early Decision every year and we are glad that you chose to apply here. However, only a limited amount of students get accepted and with, great regret that we must inform you that you have been rejected. Best of luck on all your future endeavors.

The possible congratulation intro would send my hopes soaring high and I don’t want those hopes to be killed by a rejection ;_;
