Cornell Admissions Decision Notification Dates

Does anyone know Cornell's regular decision notification date? I have heard that some of Cornell's colleges have used rolling admissions as well. Particularly for the College of Arts and Sciences and of Human Ecology, what admissions process is used and what are the notification dates?

never knew it was rolling! I would love to know as well when the dates are

yeah, I didn’t know about it being rolling in the past either until I started looking for the notification date. it sounded to me like it might only have been for certain schools, but I’m not sure… what I read wasn’t very clear unfortunately

Admission decisions currently for First Year Applicants to the majority of Cornell’s Colleges will be released Early April as per their official word. The only exception to this notation is for SHA (Hotel) and SILR (Industrial and Labor) who start notifying results “as early as the beginning of March.” The majority of the applicants apply to HumEco, CALS, and CAS and those places have “typical” admissions timelines where you find out Late March to Early April at the same time as a potential financial aid award if you were accepted.

The word “Rolling admissions” is slightly confused here as Cornell is NOT rolling admissions as the majority of the applicants are reviewed together and selected from and notified around normal time for RD schools and the two exceptions just have a slightly different way of selecting candidates. Cornell is still a ED and RD admissions school as far as I know/have researched.

okay, thank you for your help!:)

No Problem. Glad to help!

Agree with matrixsurgeon.

From the Ivy League Common Notification Date (or some such title!)….

Letters are mailed begining in February for the Schools of Hotel Administration and Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell and beginning in February for the School of Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania.

Even though this says beginning in Feb, in practice, letters have gone out at the beginning of March.

As to RD notification date….for the past two years, it has been 5pm on the Thurs prior to April 1st. If I were guessing, I would say March 27th except that April 1st will be a Tuesday this year, so I suppose they could push notification to March 31st. I am completely guessing here and have no inside info.

This document mentions likely letters for non-athletes. They were sent back in my day but I don’t know if they are used by all schools or only some.

Here is the document: http://admissions.cornell.edu/sites/default/files/2013IvyLeagueStatement.pdf

likely letters do still exist and are used by pretty much all of the top schools. Ones for non-athletes are reserved for a small number of people that every school wants to “woo” in a matter of speech. They represent the tippity top of the applicant pool.
