So my dream is to apply to Cornell CALS school in the Applied Economics and Management major. I have a lot of questions regarding my situation. Here's my situation so far:

Stats:
SAT: 1300/2040-- CR, 670; Math, 630; Writing 740 (superscored, very low I know)
GPA: ~3.8 unweighted, school doesn't do weighted
APs: English Lang (self-trained 3, didn't send), AP Bio, AP Calc AB, AP Eng. Lit.
Honors: Geometry, Earth Science, Living Environment, Integrated Algebra, Global History, (Mastery scores on all NYS Regents exams)

Subjective:
ECs: Certificate in Peer Mediation, Summer class at Emory U. for Experimental Econ, Club Soccer on a nationally ranked African team, Chess Club, Future Business Leaders (Treasurer 2x), Varsity Soccer (4x, captain), Advanced Orchestra (first string cello), Schoolwide Science fair (one 1st place and 1 second place award), Schoolwide History Fair, taught myself several instruments (african djembe, xylophone, clarinet), National Achievement Award, Model UN (1 of 6 selected for conference in Ghana and South Africa), ~100 volunteer hours-including helping construct homes in a poor West African village,

Background:
Rising Senior, New York Resident (so in-state), African-American male (so URM), currently live in Ivory Coast in West Africa which is an extremely poor area, my school hasn't offered any APs or very many extracurricular activities as a result (yet it is considered the top school in Ivory Coast, will apply Early Decision, only applicant from my school. I will apply for financial aid. I do work on my dad's plantationand so I'm poised to take over his 20-acre rubber-tree plantation as soon as I finish college

Situation: I am aware that the Cornell AEM program is extremely difficult to get into. However, I have heard it helps alot to have a certain fit for the program. Do you think that my stats along with the Future Business Leaders leadership, Summer College Economics class, the plantation business experience, and my background, shows a good enough 'fit' to at least be competitive for admission to the program? Also, is it a good idea to apply Early? Could being a NY resident or being the only one to apply from my school or URM status help at all?

Thanks for reading all this, and I would appreciate any kind of insight or response to these questions!!!
