It's tomorrow(Sunday). Will attending increase my admissions chance? I just don't seem to understand how this works. Why are they holding informational session AFTER the application deadline? It makes you feel too good as if you're incoming freshman rather than a prospective student.

I don't think so. It's just to draw you in and get you interested in Cornell, probably.

I went... and it helped me in a way I never thought it would.

jack, i couldn't go!! tell me how it helped you!!!(your chances or) should i email my regional rep and ask her what took place?

I was the kid that the President forced to stand up in the middle of the reception. When he pointed at me, I was like "uh oh...am i being rejected already?"

sounds like u all had fun. what's your AIM? i wanna im you or you . i relaly want to know what took place.

my sn is: stroshow35 you can im me if you want, im on right now.

Hey! Polo1A, I'm the girl (yes, I'm a girl) who was talking to the alum (the black guy) with the red Cornell sweatshirt right before you! I remembered you because he made you stand up.

hideANDseek: It helped me because I asked someone there about his experience with his major (which is my potential major) and he gave me his card and told me to contact him and that he knew people at Cornell he could talk to for me and put me in contact with.

Haha, that's pretty cool. Yeah, that alumn (guy in the red sweatshirts) was REALLY helpful. I'm in sort of the same boat as him financially, so it was nice to hear his perspective. I remember you too...so philosophy eh?

I went yesterday too even though I was accepted ED. My mom didn't know too much about so she was able to learn a bunch. It made me wish it was August even more. Good luck to all Bay Area applicants!!!!

Yes, I love philosophy! Cornell, I heard, is an awesome place to go for philosophy... He helped me out, too. I'm embarassed to call him, though, just because I know he'll have forgotten who I am.

So... Your SAT scores didn't make College Board weep, huh? Mine did, but not for the reason people here would think. What do you want to do in college?

And thanks b1lee5! Congrats to you for your acceptance!

I'm sure he won't mind if you call him. He seemed EXTREMELY nice and helpful.

Well, my SAT scores aren't TERRIBLE, but they're not psycho-amazing either. 2110 (690 verbal, 690 math, 730 writing) and 700 on math 2c, 720 on literature sat2, and 740 on us history sat 2.

I wanna do like an English/Econ/Poli Sci kind of major. Maybe a double major, or pre-law. Still not sure, I'll see where my interests take me.
