Cornell Application Status

Has anyone from AAP heard back yet? I have a friend who applied...

Hertz, I applied to AAP and I haven't heard from them. The lady told me last week that I would probably get the decision by this week...
What major did your friend apply to?

Urban and Regional Studies

Yeah.. I'm applying to College of Engineering as a junior transfer.. Hope will hear something from them anytime soon.. :)

Thanks scary2hairy for the link.. :)

I actually called CAS today... not the same, I know, but apparently no junior decisions have been made within that school yet. They're hoping for the end of this week...

Don't you guys find it odd...the Cornell app status page has 21,000 views..XD...more than some whole school network of threads have!!

so...from the threads last year.....we can be quite certain that those who applied for engineering and AAP will have to wait for YET another week :(

kisskisskiss - Do you think we will receive the decisions by the end of this week? Or will we have to wait until next week for them to post it?

I applied as a junior to CAS....so this is important info for me too.

Does anybody know how Cornell differentiates between their Junior and Sophomore applicants? I know the juniors have to go through some sort of department confirmation, but I am surprised to see that they have already started making decisions on sophomores before juniors.

if i apply as junior, can i still be considered as sophomore?

I have no idea. They said the website might be timelier, but I assume the added factor of departmental admission confuses everything in a way that isn't clear to people outside their system.

As far as Junior and Sophomore applicants, wasn't there a little box on the supplemental application that asked you to apply for a specific standing? I think that's the only way they make the determination.

I'm pretty sure your standing has to do with what credits of yours are accepted.

Can someone help me......For the people who have been accepted what are your gpas and stuff.I have a ged and plan on going to community college for two years and hoping to transfer to Cornell. Will the ged kill me and what should i aim my GPA for.

44100Hertz, I wondered about that too. I go to a school where I'm fairly sure all my credits will transfer, so I'm not too worried (plus I don't know if I'd get into Cornell ANYWAY), but do they evaluate your credits in committee or in the department itself? I assumed they'd look at an application for the standing indicated by the applicant, and then accept or not, and then go through the hassle of working out what could get credit only after accepting the student in general.

…Though I guess it's not likely that they'd accept an applicant for whom a significant number of credits didn't transfer.

ACCEPTED
CAS Class of 2011!

I'm waiting to hear from 4 more schools before I decide where to transfer, but this is so exciting! I LOVE Cornell!

For those of you who are still waiting on decisions:
My status page was marked as "Sent for review" about two weeks ago. I've been checking it every day, several times a day. Last time I checked at about 10:30pm and there was still no result. Then I checked back at 1am and there was an acceptance letter! Good luck everyone, and stay strong!

Congratulations, MissFiskeGuide!

Hey MissFiskeGuide! Congratulations!

What GPA do u need to transfer.......Will they not accept me cuz i have a GED

Hey MissFiske, that's awesome! Congratulations!! Not a bad late night surprise, eh??
