Cornell, CALS, AEM, Transfer

Hello I am going into my sophomore year at my local community college I am in the process of filling out the Cornell application for transfer. I am interested in going into Cornell's AEM program and I believe I have found guaranteed admission if I apply to CALS with a 3.0 or better, have met all the pre-reqs with a B or better and apply with a concentration in environmental econ. I am interested in environmental econ for a focus, however I don't know if this is a legitimate guarantee, I had a rough spring semester, but I maintained a B in the CALS pre-reqs. My current GPA is a 3.26. I did absolutely terrible in high school. I am an athlete, so I hope that helps(although in the Ivy's I doubt it). what are my chances?

What exactly do you mean buy you have found guaranteed admission? Do you specifically have a GT (guaranteed transfer) contract with Cornell? If you don’t have a GT, you are by no means guaranteed. AEM is one of the most competitive majors at Cornell, much less CALS and most admitted students have 3.8+ gpas in my experience. Are you good enough to play D1 sports?

i think he’s thinking of the guaranteed admission linkage programs some CC’s have with cornell. you should probably know that it’s not REALLY guaranteed and that the adcoms can pick who ever they want, regardless of where you’re going to school. that said, a 3.3 will never be good enough for aem.
